Brrr

I think it’s safe to say that Portland’s cold snap is officially over, but this is what Chris and I looked like for the last week or so whenever we had to go outside and brave the elements.
Considering I’ve been getting some opening shifts that require me to walk to work at 5:30 am, I have become undoubtedly undecided on my feelings towards the prospect of snow.
Goodbye, Freedom!

As some of you know, I was hired a couple weeks ago by Safeway as a courtesy clerk (read: grocery store peon). Since it was right before Thanksgiving, they decided to spare my sanity and have me wait until the end of the month before I started working. Tomorrow is my first day of training, and yesterday I had to go load up on uniform supplies since I didn’t own a single thing on their dress code.
I haven’t worn a tie since I was in high school– back when I was tewdally punk rawk– so this afternoon was spent re-learning the art. I happen to think I look quite nice in a tie… Even without the mohawk! :)
So, today I say “Goodbye, Freedom” and “Hello, Financial Security!” I’m celebrating the day by playing lots of video games, eating tasty junk and not showering. You know, the usual Sunday goodness!
What We Wore Today

What I Wore Today:
Beanie: Forever 21
Peacoat: Hand-me-down, originally UO
Bubble hem dress: Forever 21
Opaque stockings: Costco
Grey legwarmers: Forever 21
Slouch booties: Ross
I should note that Chris’s participation in this post is purely unintentional. I asked him to take a photo of me and quickly snapped a few of him while I was “setting things up.”
Sucker!
Anyway, if you know me, you know I practically live in jeans and plain colored shirts. I guess I’m feeling inspired by the cold weather, because this morning I put an unusual amount of thought into getting dressed.
Easily Amused
Ever wonder what someone with dead flat hair looks like after two straight days of a Heidi Braid? Wonder no more, my friends! :)
This one is two parts funny and one part as flattering as it gets. There were quite a few funny outtakes, including one where I look like I jumped right out of Where The Wild Things Are.
Picture processed by me and shot by Chris, who has a better eye for photography than he gives himself credit for!
